Appearance: From a first glance it is easy to tell that is fairly large for an arrancar. He stands at about 6 foot 5 inches and weighs in at a whopping 350 pounds. While some of the weight is muscle, most of it is basic fat from how often he eats. He is extremely broad shouldered, spanning 3 feet across from shoulder to shoulder, and is had a decent sized gut. However easily the most noticeable aspect of his body are his huge arms that look similar to those of a steroid abusing body builder. Even his hands are huge being able to easily grab a person's head.
His legs, while large and fairly muscular, pale in comparison to his massive upper body, and are really only muscular enough to hold up his massive upper body. In sheer contrast to his large lower body and huge upper body, Yukus actually has a rather small head and short neck often provoking jokes that all of his brain matter went to his arms rather then his head. His hair is completely black and kept rather short and he has dark grey eyes. The remains of his hollow mask appear as two large tusklike protusions that come out from his cheeks and a white beard-like piece of hollow mask that goes down from his chin. His hollow hole is located in his left shoulder.
He tends to wear the standard Espada Uniform since he cares little for fashion but usually removes the sleeves because he feels they cut down on his arm movement.
Personality: Yukus tends to be one of the more social of the Espada, usually discussing different events, some important and others trivial, with the other Espada and his own Fraccion. However he is also not a social butterfly in any way and rarely will go out of his way to try to talk to somebody. His usual plan is to make his way to a place where a lot of people are and just stay in the area, talking to whoever approaches him. However he also is the type that hates to talk about himself and will usually clam up if someone asks him about his past or state of mind. Despite this he usually has a very calm disposition rarely being rattled by surprises and taking even the strangest events in stride. He also rarely gets angry and even those few surges are quick to die down as his mind changes to think about something else.
Despite all the jokes made about the size of his head and his intelligence, Yukus isn't stupid and will get irritated very quickly if anyone suggests otherwise. While he isn't crafty or a quick thinker like some of the Espada, he can still create complex plans of attack if required to. However he also tries to avoid mental work if he can, vastly preferring hands on tasks and receiving orders from the Primera. He usually tries to take on simple plans and doesn't like overcomplicating matters if they can be done simply. As such it is also really easy to convince him of the validity of a plan or course of action which can make him fairly indecisive if he is bombarded by multiple viewpoints. He also will rarely do things on his own, usually needing prompting before completing tasks. However once given an order he completes it as soon as possible.
While he has a closer connection to his underlings then many of the other Espada, talking with them and supervising some of their training, he also rarely gives them any orders. As such they often have to go to other Espada when they have tasks they need to complete. When he does have to give orders though he is good at organization and keeping order among his subordinates. He usually sets up several sub-commanders that answer to him that are in charge of the basic tasks while he monitors the entire operation from above.
Fighting Style: Above all, Yukus likes seeing things explode. His emphasis has always been on ceros and balas of which he is extremely proficient at. His large amounts of spiritual energy help him with this and he can go blasting things for long periods of time. However while he is great at ranged combat, his swordsmanship is rather poor. While he has power behind his attacks, his technique is terrible and usually focuses on just smacking his opponent until they stop moving. The same goes for his hand-to-hand which he rarely uses. His Sonido is rather similar to his swordsmanship in that he has a lot of power but not a lot of control. He can go for very large distances and extremely quickly on single charges. However he can only string together one or two Sonidos before he has to completely stop and regain control of his energy before continuing. He also cannot change direction drastically.
When in battle due to his lack of technique with hand-to-hand or swordsmanship he almost always changes into his ress immediately. He has little interest in fighting for the sake of fighting and does not care if his battle lasts 2 minutes or 200 minutes as long as he wins. As such he will usually pull off a series of high power attacks from the beginning trying to incinerate his foe before they get a chance to retaliate. However he always keeps at least one attack in reserve so the enemy doesn't know all his tricks. He has no issue with dirty tactics and doesn't believe that any life-or-death fight can truly be fair. As such he is okay with using traps but usually doesn't, simply because making a good one is a tad more complicated then he is interested in working with. If someone offers to make one for him though he will quickly accept.
Background: Yukus had a great life when he was still in the human world. Born to an English noble family he lived his life in leisure and luxury. There was little that he couldn't get using his parent's money, and eventually his own, and he was well liked by many of the other noble families. While he did not receive the wealth or prestige that some of the highest nobles gained, he was perfectly content with his already decadent lifestyle and lorded over his mansion happily for many years. However like all people he began to age and finally passed on in the middle of the night when he was 52 years old.
However even death was not enough to get him to leave his precious home. For years he continued existing in his home, watching his son constantly to make sure he would not harm the prestige of the family. Deep within his manor simply floating around and not releasing any energy he went undetected by the shinigami. His time haunting his own mansion came to an end when his chain of fate ran out and he felt his body change. As his body began to twist and morph he saw his changed form. Horrified at his appearance and ashamed of the monster he had become he fled his home to the town near his manor. However as soon as he reached it he began to feel something he had never felt in his life. Gnawing at his mind was hunger, hunger like he had never felt in his existence. Mad with hunger he smashed through the city searching for souls to eat devouring any that he found. He soon moved to other towns to continue his feast, always searching for a way to end the terrible hunger.
During this time he came across a soul reaper. Sensing his energy to be far stronger then anything else he had ever eaten, Yukus did his best to eat the shinigami. However he had overestimated his own power and was quickly injured taking more damage then he was dealt. However as the battle reached its final stages another hollow joined the battle trying to also eat the shinigami. Realizing that he couldn't win against another strong hollow after already taking damage the shinigami fled leaving the two hollows alone. Before Yukus could do anything the other hollow turned around and attacked Yukus trying to at least get one meal out of its efforts. Already injured Yukus took even more damage before collapsing, seemingly unconscious. However the other hollow, too focused on its new meal, made the mistake of releasing its powers to properly feed on Yukus. Within that moment Yukus suddenly grabbed the other hollow's head with one tremendous hand and impaled its head on his tusk. Wounded, starving, and half mad Yukus tore the other hollow apart feasting on every inch of his foe. Finding his kin more delicious then humans, he left for Hueco Mundo to try to continue feeding.
However he had not realized how many other hollows would have that same plan. While in Hueco Mundo he tried attacking other hollows and was in turn attacked by others who intended the same for him. In the end the battle became a feeding frenzy as more hollows jumped into the cannibalistic orgy. As the fighting calmed down the hollows had merged to become a towering Gillian Menos. However even in the new form the battle continued as the wills and minds of the consumed hollows fought. Eventually Yukus emerged victorious, his hunger and will giving him control of the new body. Still hungry he went around trying to eat other Gillians and hopefully finally stop the hunger.
Finally after years of feeding, his efforts were rewarded as he evolved into an Adjucas Menos. While his hunger was still there, it was as if it had finally been muted slightly. As such he became more interested in the state of Hueco Mundo and the terrible power that the shinigami had over the area. While he rarely actually dealt with the forces that tried to push out the shinigami, he still witnessed their many failed attempts. Overtime he simply accepted that the shinigami's control would be a constant and that any effort to stop them was pointless. As such he decided to spend time returning back to his favorite job, feeding on other menos. While he had little interest in actually evolving, focusing each week on getting a bit stronger. It gave hims something to do, a distraction from the hopeless prospects of his race. However even that came to an end about a century after he began his quest when he was surprised by a few menos that tore a chunk out of his leg. He had been close to his potential, he had felt it. And now he was stuck, nearly there and yet unable to ever progress farther. He tried to console himself with the fact that he never had to fear returning to normal form but it wasn't enough. He soon fell into a depression, only eating hollows that tried to battle him, and retreated deeper into the Menos Forest. As time passed his belief that the hollow race was doomed to shinigami dominance gained added credibility and he began doubting whether there was even a point to his continued existence.
Because of this view point he was stunned when Pereza arose out of the darkness of the desert to conquer Las Noches and lead and army to push the Shinigami out of Hueco Mundo. While he at first was ecstatic at the news and briefly thought about trying to join the ranks of the Primera's army, he changed his mind and retreated back in to the Menos Forest believing that it was a simple fluke and the shinigami would soon be back in power.
However after 50 years had passed and the shinigami's few attempts to regain control had failed, Yukus decided that for the first time ever he would put his hat into the actual affairs of Hueco Mundo. Figuring that if they failed he had no point in existing longer anyway and if they won then he would have a reason to survive, he arrived at Las Noches to ask to be changed into an arrancar and join the Primera's army. Due to his initial strength he was instantly given a high rank and soon joined the Espada. Through the death of his fellows and his participation in position battles he was able to ascend higher and eventually reached the 5th Espada position. He has expressed little interest in getting a higher position as he feels he commands enough respect without being forced to take too much personal responsibility.
During the White Rebellion he was part of the force that attacked the human world, using his powerful abilities to blow up huge chunks of the cities he brought his armies to. Despite the damage he created and the number of souls he turned into hollows, he was eventually confronted by a group of Superhumans and Quincy. To his surprise they showed far more power than he expected and even put a stop to his attacks briefly. While he managed to kill some of them, he was eventually forced to obey the general retreat order given after the Elder Shinigami arrived. Since then he has been noticeably more pessimistic about the chances of the Espada to truly take over the three world considering all of the opponents they have. At the same time he has also started trying to observe the movements of the spiritual humans and think of a way to deal with them while the other Espada are focusing on the Shinigami.
