Race Relations Thread

Since there are so many races on this site, sometimes it is tough figuring out who is fighting who and which races are allies. Basically this thread will describe how the races view each other, whether they are allies or enemies, and a brief description as to why it is this way. Of course this is just describing in general how the races feel about each other, individuals can have different opinions.

SHINIGAMI RELATIONS WITH:

Arrancar - Bitter Enemies

For the shinigami whose purpose is to protect the balance of the spiritual worlds and eradicate hollows, no group is as dangerous or subversive to their mission then the Arrancar. From the moment the Arrancar appeared they have been number one on the Shinigami's threat list. This is unlikely to change any time soon. It is usually acceptable to kill arrancar on sight if possible and any movement of them is enough to provoke a reaction from soul society.

Vizards - Neutral

Despite being former members of the Gotei 13, the shinigami have been loath to accept their Vizard bretheren with open arms. Many members of the Gotei as well as the Council of 46 believe the Vizards to be more of a threat then a help but do not want to antagonize the group if at all possible. At the same time they also help keep control over the spiritual hub of the world, Japan, which eases the shinigami's jobs when shit hits the fan there. As such they are currently making minimal efforts to make alliances but also cannot be considered enemies.

Quincy - Allies

While they have had their issues in the past, the Quincy and Shinigami still share many of the same goals and desires when it comes to the human world. As such they have over time created a decent alliance between the two parties, working together when the need arises. However the shinigami still rarely work directly with the Quincy due to sometimes not understanding the mindset of living humans or their methods of dealing with threats. As such they primarily just accept what the Quincy do and leave it at that. However the Quincy have been given one boon by the Soul Society, access to a Senkaimon that can be opened when the need arises.

Superhumans - Neutral

The shinigami tend to have mixed feelings about the young Superhuman organization. Adding to their regular worries about anything that isn't really old, they also do not trust the Organization to last very long. The chaos and disorder of the Superhuman Organization tends to worry the shinigami more than anything else and their ability to awaken other humans has provoked worries about the future of human/shinigami relations. Currently they have made no offers of alliance with the Superhuman Org but also do not consider them to be enemies at this time.

Elder Shinigami - Allies

The closest allies that the Shinigami have is of course their own kind. While they are not interested in having the Elder Shinigami constantly protect them or fight with them, they consider them extremely wise and are trying to learn more about the battles in the past and how to improve their powers and training methods. The fact that the Elders actually saved the Seiretei from destruction during the White Rebellion also adds to this strong connection. They are hoping to be able to rely on Elder assistance if the need arises but would still prefer they don't have to call upon them if it isn't necessary.


Bounts - Unknown

While the Elder Shinigami have given some information about their former allies and the Great Spiritual War, they have still been rather tightlipped about the Bounts and the shinigami have not been able to make contact with any yet. As such they have not made any decisions about how to deal with them at this time.

Otaku - Under Surveillance

With the sudden uprising of the Otaku, the shinigami have been in a bit of a frenzy deciding how to deal with the chaos in the human world. While they are loath to instantly declare the Otaku enemies, there are many who feel it would be better to squash the threat before anything can go wrong. The fact that a group with connections to the spiritual realm is interacting with the politics of the living, something that had never happened before, is also adding to their frustration.

ARRANCAR RELATIONS WITH:

Shinigami - Bitter Enemies

If there is one group in the way of the Arrancar's plans to conquer the three worlds, its the shinigami. The Arrancar have hatred not just for the Shinigami's attempts to stop their reign, but also of course for the fear they had for the shinigami when they used to rule Hueco Mundo and when they were just regular, weak hollows who had to constantly hide from the powerful shinigami. Ever since the failure of the White Rebellion they have been searching for a way to get their revenge on the shinigami and finally end the Gotei once and for all.

Vizards - Enemies

With or without a hollow mask, for most of the Arrancar a shinigami is a shinigami. While they at first had some interest in possibly making an alliance or pact of non-aggression, this was ended during the White Rebellion when the Vizards stepped in as allies of the shinigami to stop the Arrancar's attacks. Many still believe that without the Vizard's interference the White Rebellion at least would have been successful in the human world. However despite this animosity the Vizards are also not "kill-on-sight" due to their great powers. Instead the arrancar are planning their own way of dealing with them.

Quincy - Under Surveillance

While the Quincy are hollow slayers like the shinigami, they are not nearly as high up on the threat list for the Arrancar as some of the other races. They ultimately consider the Quincy nothing more then pawns for the Shinigami and figure that without the help of the Shinigami they would end up vanishing fairly quickly. The fact that the Quincy do not extend much outside of Japan also helps keep their worries low as they can focus their attention to other areas if necessary. However some are not that willing to just completely dismiss the Quincy and still put some attention into keeping watch of the Quincy movements.

Superhumans - Neutral

While the Superhumans consider themselves to be "protectors of humanity" the Arrancar, like the shinigami, ultimately do not believe this group will last very long due to internal dilemmas and conflicts. Not only that, but some believe that over time they could actually convert the Superhumans to their goals. All it would take is for the leadership to be filled with powerful but less noble beings and they have a chance of a future alliance.

Elder Shinigami - Enemies

It only took one battle for the Elder Shinigami to end up on the Arrancar's hate list. After the crushing defeat of the Arrancar by the Elder Shinigami during the White Rebellion, the Arrancar quickly learned to hate and fear the powerful Shinigami. However unlike the Vizards and regular Shinigami that they have plans for, they currently do not know how to deal with the Elder Shinigami. Apparently the Primera Pereza has a plan, but besides that they just know to avoid them if possible.

Bounts - Unknown

The Arrancar currently have no idea that the Bounts exist.

Otaku - Neutral

The Arrancar care little for the actions, wishes, or needs of the Otaku. Instead they are focusing on how best to use the chaos that the Otaku are creating to their advantage. As such the Arrancar usually just ignore the Otaku to allow them to continue building on that same chaos and will only attack if they are actually provoked or injured by a member of the Otaku.

VIZARD RACE RELATIONS

Shinigami - Neutral

While they sometimes have the same goals, the Vizards are not very interested in regaining ties with their original brethren. Most of the Vizards had reasons why they were willing to leave the Gotei in the first place and few are interested in returning for those same reasons. The general consensus is to not antagonize the Soul Society but make sure they can retain their own order and independence. If either of those were threatened it could result in a violent reaction.

Arrancar - Under Surveillance

Unlike the regular shinigami, the Vizards do not have as strong a hatred or grudge against the Arrancar. While they do not trust them, especially after the events of the White Rebellion, they also do not actively seek to destroy their organization. Some Vizards even believe that the two groups should actually make some sort of alliance due to the shared status of having hollow and shinigami powers. However the stark difference in goals has prevented this from occurring. The Vizard Maker himself has also shown a fair amount of disinterest in the Arrancar and maintains a stance of not wasting the Vizard strength on them unless they really start causing problems in the human world like they did during the White Rebellion.

Quincy - Neutral

The Vizards really have no contact with the Quincy despite both races being stationed in Japan. Whether this will continue into the future will have to be seen.

Superhumans - Neutral

As with the Quincies, the Vizards have dealt little with the Superhuman Organization and have had little interest in their affairs. In there general opinion as long as the humans just deal with humans then they have no reason to interfere.

Elder Shinigami - Unknown

The regular shinigami have made an effort to keep the Vizards from learning about the Elder Shinigami and as such they are not aware of their existence. The only person aware of the Elder Shinigami is the Vizard Maker, and he has been unusually tight lipped about their existence.

Bounts - Allies

The only regular race that currently is aware of the Bounts, the Vizard are also the only ones who have a full alliance with them. This is mostly due to the Vizard Maker brokering an alliance with the Bount in the past when he encountered them during his search for information about the Great Spiritual War. Due to the similarities in the past (having to keep away from the rest of the world, resulting from scientific experiments in some way) they regarded each other with respect. While neither side is likely to do anything that requires the assistance of the other, the Vizards have promised to give support to the Bount if necessary.

Otaku - Potential Allies?

While the Vizards have normally ignored the actions of the spiritual humans, the battle brought about by the Otaku has caught their interest, specifically that of the High Elites. They are currently discussing with the Otaku some way to work an alliance of some kind out to help them on their quest. However if this fails, it would take little for this potential alliance to slip into antagonistic territory.

QUINCY RELATIONS WITH:

Shinigami - Allies

Over the past 1000 years the Quincy have had mixed relationships with the shinigami. However over the past centuries they have finally put together a strong alliance. The Quincy consider themselves to be the "voice of the living" in many ways and exist to help the humans rather then simply protect the balance like the shinigami do and serve to keep the human affairs in importance within the minds of the shinigami. They usually will help out the shinigami in any big affairs in the human world, or at least volunteer to help, and have the ability to request shinigami backup if they feel they are in trouble. They sometimes also feel it is necessary to make sure the shinigami "get with the times" and explain to them the various political and technological advances that occur in the human world.

Arrancar - Enemies

Arrancar used to be hollows and seek to conquer the world. The Quincy have vowed to stop this if at all possible and will attack any arrancar that they spot in the human world. They have also stated that if the arrancar keep attacking with the shinigami only responding, they might take the offensive themselves.

Vizards - Neutral

While the Quincy and Vizards did work together a little bit during the White Rebellion, the relations between the two races didn't change much. The Quincy don't trust the Vizards that much due to gaining hollow power and are not interested in trying to make an alliance of any kind with them. Instead they choose to just let the Vizards go about their own business and see what happens from there.

Superhuman - Tentative Alliance

While the Quincy actually helped with the creation of the Superhuman order, they aren't that sure if they chose the best actions. The politics and conflicts of the Superhumans worry the Quincy Council Members and they are unsure who might start gaining powers through the Superhumans process of "awakening" other humans. While the Quincy have to learn to control their powers by being instructed, and thus can weed out the members who might have more deviant goals, the fact that Superhumans accept pretty much anyone compounds their worries. However, the fact that both races are still humans with spiritual powers does connect them enough to have something that could be called an alliance. How much power they are willing to give to the Superhumans however is up in the air.

Elder Shinigami - Neutral

Despite being allies of the shinigami, the Quincy have mixed feelings about the Elder Shinigami. The new knowledge that there are a bunch of ridiculously powerful shingami worries some of the Council Members, especially considering the not-so-perfect past between the Quincy and regular shinigami. The fact that even the regular shinigami rarely come into contact with the Elder Shinigami also has made it so the Quincy have had little interest in trying to make connections with the Elder Shinigami.

Bount - Unknown

The Quincy currently do not know of the existence of the Bount and thus have no opinion of them.

Otaku - Under Surveillance

The Quincy currently find the Otaku to be all of their fears about the Superhuman Organization realized. The sudden uprising of the Otaku against the governments of the world has caught the Quincy by surprise and many believe that it is important for them to step in and put a stop to it if it escalates any more. While they have not started moving yet, if the Otaku get violent against regular civilians the Quincy will likely make their move.

SUPERHUMAN RELATIONS WITH:

Shinigami - Neutral

For most of the Superhumans the shinigami are people they will deal with once they are dead. Most are more interested in dealing with the issues of the living and will only complain about the shinigami if it seems like they aren't doing their job well. While they share interests of killing hollows, it is primarily so they can protect humans rather then "protect the balance" like the shinigami focus on. As such they do not interfere or object to the shinigami's job but also rarely go out of there way to help them as well.

Arrancar - Enemies

The current leaders of the Superhuman Organization have a deep disgust of the soul eating arrancar and hollows and believe that any attempt they make to gain more power should be instantly squashed. However there has been scattered murmerings of some Superhumans who actually think that the Arrancar have the right idea and should be left to their own devices due to it being in their nature to eat souls. While these are usually squashed and the official response has not changed, the ease at which the Organization's goals change could result in a different take on the Arrancar situation.

Vizards - Neutral

Whether they have a mask or not, the Superhumans do not have interest in shinigami and this extends to the Vizards as well. They have rarely dealt with the Vizards, only quick moments during the White Rebellion, and wish to keep it this way.

Quincy - Tentative Alliance

While many Superhumans are grateful for the effort the Quincy put in to building the Superhuman Organization, others feel that while they should only help the Quincy if the human race itself is in danger rather then just some members of the Quincy race. As such while they consider themselves allies due to both being spiritual humans, they ultimately would prefer the two organizations stay separate as much as possible.

Elder Shinigami - Unknown

The Superhumans do not know about the Elder Shinigami at this time.

Bount - Unknown

The Bounts have not made themselves known to the Superhumans yet.

Otaku - Under Surveillance

The Superhuman Organization has been even more chaotic then normal since the Otaku split from the main organization. Some believe the Otaku should be killed as traitors while others believe that the Superhumans should be as accepting of each other as possible as long as the Otaku do not actively endanger the Superhuman Organization. While one Overseer has been sent to deal with the Otaku at this time, it is clear that if the Otaku step one toe out of line, a war between the two factions could easily develop.

ELDER SHINIGAMI RELATIONS WITH:

Shinigami - Allies

While the Elder Shinigami look down on their younger brethren for their lack of strength and the troubles that they have brought to the three worlds by not being able to stop the arrancar, they are still fierce allies of the current Gotei. They have vowed to stay out of affairs as much as possible but will instantly step in to protect the Seiretei if it seems to be in danger of destruction, as it did during the White Rebellion. However they also are still very tightlipped about the events of the Great Spiritual War or how the original Gotei was run. For now it is unclear why they act this way.

Arrancar - Under Surveillance

While the Elder Shinigami most likely have the capability to crush the Espada with their powerful abilities, they currently have entered a rather passive stance when it comes to the Arrancar. As long as the Arrancar do not actually attack the Seiretei (or at least do enough damage where there might be a danger of shinigami defeat) they are willing to let them do pretty much anything they like. They refuse to leave Soul Society to fight them in Hueco Mundo or the Human World so as long as they stay out of the Seiretei they will be fine. However if they do enter the Soul Society, they will have no mercy.

Vizards - Neutral

While the Elder Shingami have some respect for the Vizards due to their attempt to seek greater power, they also have distrust for any being that is not actually part of the Gotei. As such they have decided to wait until an alliance or declaration of war between the regular shinigami and the Vizards occur before they take any actions.

Quincy - Neutral

While the Quincy are actually allies of the shinigami, this has not endeared them much to the Elder Shinigami. They have little belief that humans can do anything right when it comes to protecting the world but figure that if the humans want to get themselves killed, that's their personal right. As such they do not try to even introduce themselves to the Quincy when some make the journey to the Seiretei but have no interest in actually fighting them either.

Superhumans - Unknown

It is not known if the Elder Shinigami even know that the Superhuman Organization exists. If they do, they have shown absolutely no interest in even contemplating whether they are allies or enemies.

Bounts - Tentaive Alliance?

While their relations haven't always been that great, the Elder Shinigami and Bount did have a brief alliance and longstanding truce between the two races. They aren't that interested in making a strong connection between the two races, and are worried the Bount would shut them down anyway, but do not want to antagonize the other party either. As such they still have a slight pact to work together if their former enemies return but it is unknown if that still binds the two after 3000 years.

Otaku - Unknown

The Elder Shinigami do not know about the Otaku at this time.

BOUNT RELATIONS WITH:

Shinigami - Neutral

Lacking interest in making alliances with people immediately, the Bount have not made any attempts to get Shinigami attention. While they had made an alliance with the Elder Shinigami in the far past, they are currently more interested in learning about the present state of the Gotei 13 and how its politics have changed in the past. For now they are taking the stance of an observer to figure out what the changes are, and if there is a need for any alliance at all.

Arrancar - Neutral

Due to their problems with hollows and hollow like beings back in the Great Spiritual War, the Bount are currently unsure how to deal with the Arrancar. In some ways they do share a connection to Hueco Mundo but are unsure if making another alliance with a hollow-like being would just cause the same problems that occurred 3000 years ago. For now they will be waiting to see if the Arrancar come to them with a proposal of alliance and see how things will go from there. At the very least they currently don't have any malicious intent towards the Arrancar.

Vizards - Allies

Due to the constant attempts at alliance by the Vizard Maker, the Bounts have finally agreed to an alliance with the shinigami who have undergone hollowification. Partially due to intersecting interests with the Vizard Maker and a feeling of connection with the past and plight of the Vizards, they have promised to help out if the Vizard Sanctuary was ever in an extreme threat. Besides that though they don't have too much contact as the organization of the two races is fairly different (Bounts are more widespread and interested in learning about the changed world, Vizards are couped up in a mountain).

Quincy - Neutral

While the Bount know of the Quincy and are interested in learning more about their abilities and power, they have very little interest in the actual people that make up the Quincy race. For now they are, as with so many other races, just interested in watching matters rather then making rash decisions.

Superhumans - Under Surveillance

While the Bount are interested in the Quincies powers, they are not as much a fan of the Superhuman Organization. From the little information they have gathered they worry that a bunch of humans weilding spiritual power without a coherent structure could be dangerous in the long run. They worry about the rashness of the living human and the mistakes and calamities that could occur if there power was abused.

Elder Shinigami - Tentative Alliance?

The Bount have rather mixed feelings about the Elder Shinigami at this point. While they have gratitude that the Elder Shinigami taught them how to use their Dolls and the fact remains that it was primarily due to the Elder Shinigami's insistence that the Bount ended up staying in hiding for the past 3000 years. However it is also true that the Elder Shinigami stayed true to all of their bargains in the past and, while their arrogance continually annoys the Bount, they have been helpful in the past. However with new races to interact with, the Bount may cut ties with their former allies to connect with a new race that shares their interests more.

Otaku - Unknown

The Bount are not yet aware of the Bount uprising.

This is the placeholder for the Otaku Race Relations.

Due to the changes that will likely be occurring in the current arc among the Otaku and the other races, I would likely have to quickly change it pretty soon anyway.

Just figure that all of their relations are a work in progress.
