Personality: Tetsu is a calm, quiet guy at times. He enjoys spending time outside, laying on a roof and watching the clouds. First impressions make Tetsu seem like he is lazy and careless. However, Tetsu is just calm. When he needs to be, he can become serious and determined. He will always stand up for his friends and his squad. He is sometimes known to break the rules at times, but most of the time, his rulebreaking goes unknown. He doesn't do this often though.
If Tetsu can not be found laying around, he is usually found in the training grounds. Tetsu hates fighting, but will do so when needed. He has a strong hate for hollows since they killed his parents when he was human. When fighting a Hollow, Tetsu gets straight to the point. He doesn't like to give his opponent a chance to form a counter attack or defense when he is serious. He absolutely dispises those that think they are better than others and who will cause others pain.
Fighting Style: Tetsu is skilled in close combat, focusing on speed and strength. His usual fighting tactics is mixed martial arts, not always relying on his zanpakuto. He will sometimes combine Gorilla Tactics with Chinese Kenpo. Gorilla Tactics gets within your opponents personal space, staying with them the entire time. Gorilla Tactics is usually a hard thing to break when it is done, and the attacks are much weaker at such close a range. At this range, the two bodies are just a few inches from each other, making weapons like swords and such useless.
Tetsu follows up Gorilla tactics with Chinese Kenpo. Chinese Kenpo is also known as Gentle Fist. Chinese Kenpo has moves that are used mainly for close range, so they fit perfect with Gorilla Tactics. Even though at such a close range they are unable to attack with full force, Chinese Kenpo focuses on supporting moves that will give a move its full force. Such as following up a weak close up uppercut with a thrust to the elbow, giving the weaker arm the full strength it needs to snap the opponents neck back and throw them. Gorilla Tactics are also a good combination to use with Kudo and Jujitsu.
Tetsu also focuses on Karate, Jujitsu, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, and many other styles of martial arts that he was taught as a human and still practices each day. When fighting with a bladed weapon such as a zanpakuto, Tetsu usually uses speed and counters rather than focusing on strength. He will sometimes combine his close combat martial arts with his sword attacks, creating a quick and powerful strike followed up some kind of Karate or Muay Thai move, sometimes other types in some cases.
Background: Tetsu died at the age of sixteen. Before his death, he lived with his grandmother. He has lived with them since the murder of his parents by a hollow. Tetsu had been a young superhuman at once, unknowing of the world around him. He died when fighting a strong hollow, one stronger than him. He managed to kill it at the cost of his life, but atleast he saved his grandmother.
Before his parents died, his mom would teach him about mythology. She taught him Greek, Norse, and Egyptian Mythology. He loved learning about them. His father would also teach him a few things from those era. Mainly just their fighting tactics. His father had traveled the world learning different types of fighting, mainly martial arts. This was before Tetsu was born.
His father started teaching Tetsu how to fight when he was old enough. Tetsu and his father trained together for years till Tetsu was fifteen. His mother's kind heart also rubbed off on Tetsu, making him a Passive person. Meaning he hated fighting but would fight if necessary. After his parents death, Tetsu continued to train.
After his death, Tetsu was sent to the Soul Society by a Shinigami. From there Tetsu continued to train in hopes of joining the Gotei 13 and being able to return to the human world to check on his grandmother. It took Tetsu over fifty years for his spirit to manifest into the Zanpakuto. From there he was capable of getting into the Shinigami Academy.
Tetsu was ok with using his spirit energy, but his strong point was Zanjutsu and Hakuda. Tetsu was the third best fighter in his Zanjutsu class. In his Hakuda class he was the top fighter. He was a little above average in his Hoho class, being fifth fastest. However, he was among the weakest in his Kido class. After being in the Soul Society for 108years, Tetsu finally graduated the Academy and soon became a member of the 2nd squad of the Gotei 13. He knew his grandmother would be dead by now, so he is concerned on protecting others from Hollows.
