Personality: Tokiyama always acts in an aristocratic manner, seeming always serene and apathetic towards other people, even when he is actually deeply conflicted. He is extremely calm, even in battle, and is very seldom surprised by even the most drastic of actions, or events.
Tokiyama does however generally acts indifferent, bordering on arrogance, to most situations that he is faced with how he generally veiws his opponent as weak. Despite this trait, Tokiyama is a very perceptive man and is fully aware of the limits of his abilities. His attitude as a whole was crafted through his years of hardship and defeating his enemies but its just a lie used to protect himself from emotional strains
Tokiyama does have a strong sense of pride in law and order. As a Captain in the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, he always works hard for a peaceful society. He feels that if someone in his position does not follow the rules as a good example, then no one will follow them. Because of this righteous attitude Tokiyama has shown open disdain for those who have been dishonorable towards Soul Society or who he finds to be annoying or overconfident.
As a Captain he is rarely seen smiling, always having a cold stare as he walks about the Divisions, and Soul Society as a whole. In Captain's meetings he openly voices his opinion if an idea does not seat well with him. However if it's a direct order he asks nothing and fulfills his duties, expecting the same from his Squad, and even other Captains
Fighting Style: Tokiyama focuesly mainly on the use of Kido in tandem to his zanpakuto skills. When combining both he prefers to lead his enemy on into a trap while downplaying his zanpakuto's ability to further misdirect his enemies. His agility is also a factor in most fights as he is extremely light on his feet, and can move at a quick rate while reacting almost at a passive level. his hand-eye coordination is top notch.
His kido is argueably one of the most balanced within Soul Society as his use of hado, and bakudo work in sync with one another and highlighting the weakness and strength of both.
Background: Tokiyama was born in rokongai district where he was subject to harsh living condition. Having to steal and kill for what others did not crafted Tokiyma into a cunning warrior. His small body let him creep throughout distrist under the cover of night. His large amount of reishi at his age increasing his power, through time hee learned to use it Tokiyama found himself targetted by gangs, and slayers within the dark alleys of the Zaraki district.
By the age of 60 Tokiyama had enough battle experience to rival that of most unranked academy students. A few years later he would join the shinigami academy. During his first two years Tokiyama wasn't much of a model student he fought a lot out of remarks made of other students veiws, and abilities. His teacher were viewed as two slow as he felt he was being slowed down by other students. By his 4th year he had released his zanpakuto and was well on his way into the 6th division. hunting other Soul reapers was easy fo Tokiyama, hunting your own kind was the easist of fights, and soon that too boring. Only when he was transferred to the 5th did he noticed his enjoyment of kido and it's countless uses.
His best subject in school was now his greatest interest. 123 years later he was Vice-Captain, and 6 years after that the 5th was his own squad, his promotion to Captain boosting his chances at testing his kido abilities.
During the White Rebellion Tokiyama battled a horde of hollows attacking the soul society pushing them back he later fought an arrancer claiming to be an Espada, it was revealed through his poor battle tactics that he was nowhere near that level. This have gotten boring lately but constant training has entertained him sense.
