The Rise of the Otaku

Naraga hadn't heard what his brother-in-arms had said. He was too enthrawled with hunting and killing any hollow that came by him. Naraga dashed through the air slashing Menos and other powerful Hollows with a maniacal grin on his face and an undoubtable bloodlust in his eyes. How convient. An army of Hollows I can entertain myself with. I'll have to thank whoever sent them... hehehehe... That should be fun.

As each wave of hollows confronted Naraga, his eyes blazed with murderous intent and unhidden excitement. One by one he struck each one down with inhuman speed until a group of 4 Adjuchas attacked him. Being unable to wound any of them with his sealed zanpakuto Naraga called upon his shikai.

"Reikoku Nayami. Show them the true nature of pain." He said with obvious glee as his two daggers quickly morphed into two bladed gauntlets. He quickly desposed of his "elite" enemies with some disappointment. Then he turned with a smile to once again reign chaos on his skeletal opponents.

Mannosuke cursed as a hollow's claws raked his cheek nearly stabbing him in the face. Summoning his energy he fired a large energy bullet out of his hand blowing up part of the hollow's mask and knocking it to the ground. Wiping some sweat off his forehead he looked around at the battlefield around him.

It seemed like the forces were starting to reach a bit of a stalemate. While there were still casualties on both sides, it seemed like both the Otaku and the Hollows had started to change their strategies. After the initial rush had failed, the hollows had started to leave the Garganta at a much slower rate and were not flooding the area like they had at the beginning. However they also were bringing in more hollows that had healing powers or more Adjuchas to keep the battle lines strong. A few Arrancar had also started to appear in the ranks increasing Mannosuke's suspicion that an Espada was somehow in control of this operation. It seemed too organized otherwise.

Meanwhile the Otaku had managed to get a decent formation going. The initial push had tired out most of their main fighters and they realized that if they kept attacking with their full power they would run out of stamina and collapse quickly. As such they had started trading out their members giving the current fighters time to rest and recuperate their energy briefly while the refreshed members rejoined the front lines. It had cut down their hollow killing speed dramatically, but it was still allowing them to keep up their assault without falling. As such while the clashes between the two forces were still ongoing, neither side was gaining ground due to their focus on healing and endurance.

The only side that really seemed full of energy was still the two shinigami who would make mincemeat out of the enemies around them. At the same time though the hollows had started putting most of the arrancar and the hollows with the highest defense around them to keep them preoccupied. While the Vizards were still doing a lot of damage, it still wasn't like their initial spree of destruction.

"This can't last for too much longer. They obviously aren't interested in the regular humans or even in us that much." Mannosuke said to one of the nearby Otaku he was working with. "They want something and it hasn't arrived yet, most likely more shinigami. The moment they do arrive things will likely get much more dangerous."

"Have an idea of what to do in case that does happen?" The other Otaku asked firing a series of metal blades out of his gun arm.

"Still thinking on something. For now though we just have to keep this position as long as possible. The longer the battle is going on, the more time other groups have to arrive and fortify this area. For now lets just prepare for anything out of the ordinary." It was a lame strategy, especially for Mannosuke, but there were too many unknown variables for him to figure out a proper plan. But as soon as something changed, he would probably be able to think of something new.

And if worst came to worse, he always had THAT plan in reserve.

((STILL WAITING ON NPCs. Gonna make an NPC topic in Announcements for people to give info about their NPCs. If you are gonna make one, post the information in there. They can be hollows, vizards, or Otaku at this point. Preferably hollows though. Thx.))

Fighting off all Hollows around him, his killing speed went down and the Hollows were a lot tougher to kill now. A part of him felt connected with these Hollows, he felt that something or someone was leading them.
Espada...
It was the only logical explaination.
Maybe they want to distract the Shinigami here and strike at the right moment when there's too much chaos for the Shinigami to handle... I'm not going to use Bankai yet.. It will only draw out the need for my Mask and then I'd run out of energy soon...
Zeno thought as his superior close combat skills paid off and no Hollow that had crossed his path so far had posed a threat really. But he also noticed that nobody was gaining ground...
This was becoming an endurance race and if reinforcements didn't arrive soon, they were going to lose. He wanted to check up on the Otaku's situation but there were too many Hollows in the way.

"Sasu no Akuma!" He shouted and fired a massive, blunt energy blast that absorbed destroyed all Hollows it hit. He had put a lot of energy in this attack but at least the road was clear and the Hollows lost a lot of territory now. The blast had cleared the path completely between him and the Otaku and even a bit more. He quickly dashed off until he appeared next to Manosuke.

"How are the Otaku doing?" Zeno asked as he gestured that this was their chance to push forward.
