Appearance: (Zack from Final Fantasy advent children)
Spoiler:
Personality: Kenshiki is very quiet and usually does not speak unless spoken to. When he gets angry or sad or just feels like nothing will go his way he tends to go into a forest or some where to train alone and reflect on the situation. Kenshiki is passive-aggressive, but if he is challenged to fight he won't flee he will engage the enemy. He can commonly be found meditating, on anything, such as his past, people around him or etc.
Kenshiki will very rarely talk about his past. He loves to spar with people to learn about them and him. If you ask him to do something for you, and he can do it, most of the time he will say yes. He feels that if he said he was going to do something like a mission he will do everything in his power to complete it, Kenshiki doesn't really have a reason for fighting as a soul reaper, other than self preservation, and self realization. He doesn't really care about the seireitei, but he works to the best of his ability when properly motivated. Kenshiki avoids getting into trouble, knowing that it doesn't take much to bring Central 46's wrath down on you.
When Kenshiki has to lead, he will usually ask those with him for their assessment of the situation, and take it into consideration when forming a plan. When he does have a plan formed he will do it, sometimes forgetting that his team doesn't know what he is thinking, and expects them to follow his lead.
Fighting Style:
Kenshiki is skilled in both Zanjutsu & Kido. His own style allows him to use kido while in a sword battle with an opponent when wielding a single Zanpakuto. He is lacking however in hand-to-hand combat, and his shunpo is quite limited.
Single Zanpakuto- Using only one sword frees up one of the users hands, so the can bring out something like kunai or shuriken; or use kido. With only a single sword, the sword is used primarily as a defense rather than offense, while the open hand can be used as offense. Also the user can switch arms when one gets tired.
Dual Zanpakuto- When using two zanpakuto, the user is able to use both swords as either their offense or defense, with their full force, while using the speed of their swords to confuse the opponent. Also the user can use one sword as an offense while having the other as defense and switch back and forth to cover their weaknesses. The drawback to using both swords like this is it can tire out an inexperienced warrior quite quickly, so it is best used in a short battle, rather than a prolonged battle.
Background:
Pre Academy Arc:
Spoiler:
Kenshiki was (re)born in the Rukonga district 50, so he didn't have the best stuff, but didn't have the worst either. As a young boy he, and his brothers would play shinigami, with sticks, and strike down fake hallows. At that time it appeared to all of his friends that hollows were always evil and should be destroyed, but Kenshiki questioned that. He however kept that to himself not really knowing anything about them, and not wanting to stick out. One day when playing shinigami with his friends, Kenshiki felt something in the air that at the time he could only use the word thick to describe. He told his friends and they laughed saying he was just being weird. Kenshiki wasn't sure, so he left them to play and went from what he could guess was away from it. After a few moments of walking the air changed, and Kenshiki heard shouts in the direction of his friends and the town. He froze for a moment then gripped his stick hard and ran back after them. He wasn't sure what he could do, but his legs were moving of their own accord. When he got there he saw his friends, along with some of the town a bloody mess. For the first time, Kenshiki saw a hollow, and it turned toward him. Their eyes were lock and Kenshiki wasn't sure what to do. The next thing he knew the hollow cried out in pain as it was cut down by a shinigami. Kenshiki sat down trying to catching his breath that was exiting his body at an extremely fast pace. The shinigami looked down at him then turned to leave. Kenshiki tried to say something, but nothing would come out. The soul reaper only turned his head and told Kenshiki, next time be strong to save them, or stay weak and let those you care about die it's up to you. Kenshiki thought about it for a long time, realized he was right so he packed what little he had and left for the Soul Reaper academy to get stronger.
-Academy Arc-
Spoiler:
When Kenshiki first arrived at the Soul Reaper Academy, he was ignored by most of the instructors and students. He wasn't from a highly regarded noble family, nor was he 'trash' from the 76th district. While some students tried to be friendly, Kenshiki always: gave short answers; kept quiet; and even blew a few off, if they asked questions about his past or where he came from, thus Kenshiki failed to make many friends. Those he did make however knew little about him. In his zanjutsu classes, Kenshiki quickly excelled. While he did well with one sword in both hands, kendo style, he always looked for an excuse to use one hand, or would "accidentally" break the training sword in class and use both pieces as weapons. Kenshiki also excelled in his Kido classes when asked to perform a fire based Kido. Kido of other elements was a different story: lightning, for example, would blow up in his face; water/ice would evaporate as steam; and so on. It was obvious to most teachers that Kenshiki's released zanpakuto would be of the fire family. What most of them failed to realize was that Kenshiki's fighting style, with sword(s), had a solid base, with strong hits, which would suggest more of an earth-based zanpakuto. Kenshiki had good grades in his other classes, but they weren't very outstanding, like his Zanjutsu class' grade. In just five and a half years Kenshiki graduated, and was placed in squad 11.
-Regular Shinigami Arc-
Spoiler:
Kenshiki entered the 11th squad and his ability with zanjutsu was put to the test. He landed seat 17, which considering he just graduated, wasn't too bad. The 11th squad was always known for their ability in zanjutsu and their lust for battle, and after about three missions Kenshiki knew that while he could do quiet well, this squad wasn't the best place for him, so he transferred out, and got into squad 2. When tested in a variety of categories, based for covert ops, Kenshiki landed seat 12. Kenshiki was okay with the position, but wasn't satisfied with the limited information he could access, but he wasn't really motivated to move up his position. The Captain found out quickly that Kenshiki wasn't working as hard as he could, so they upped the difficulty on the missions, and knowing that he looks out for he allies, but him in charge on most of the missions. Druing this time Kenshiki learned the names of his Zanpakutou and a shikai for both of them. Kenshiki was thus forced to perform his duties to the best of his ability, and quickly moved up in rank to 9th seat. As reward for moving up so far, that fast, and doing it with out having released his zanpakuto, Kenshiki was given the chance to lead a mission, with anyone of his chose under his command, regardless of rank difference. Kenshiki read through the details of the mission, he was going to undertake, and after careful consideration, decided that would only take two allies, Lieutenant Hiko, more because he wanted the chance to command him rather than his ability, and Luna, the newest member to the squad. Kenshiki chose Luna, partially because she could use the experience, and partially because she was one of his few friends from the academy. The mission was rather simple, defeats the five large hallows that are attacking a town in the world of the living. That was all that was written down for him to due, but Kenshiki knew better than that, he was also to find their leader that got them to work together. Normally the hallows with such a small mind, didn't know friend from foe, but these ones were extremely organized, also the town didn't have much of a concentration of spirit energy, so what were they to gain? Kenshiki pondered these ideas and more as he, and he team proceeded to the designated area. All his allies knew, was they were to exterminate the hollows, Kenshiki didn't tell them about what he believed was wanted to do. He knew Hiko figured there was more to the mission, though he didn't say as much, and Luna might have an idea, but she was nervous, this being her first official mission. The first part of the mission went really well, they divided up, Kenshiki, and Luna took the three on the right, and Hiko took the remaining two. The results of the mission were; time only being five minutes, with minor injuries to the Lieutenant. Kenshiki questioned him after the battle on why he seemed to be having trouble on such a simple mission, but Hiko made up some story, and went to Luna, and complemented her performance. Kenshiki knew that the Lieutenant as hiding something, but he pretended to believe the story. As they were about to open the senkai Mon, a hole in the sky opened up, and a menos appeared. Kenshiki expected that the battle wasn't over, but he figured something smarter than a minos was behind the coordinated hollows, but then he didn't know much about the menos, so he knew this was possible. Hiko instructed Kenshiki, and Luna to return and request back up. Luna accepted the order and left, but Kenshiki stayed saying; he had prepared for this event, and was still in charge. Hiko gave up on trying changing his mind rather quickly and drew his zanpakuto. The menos started charging it's cero, and Hiko prepared to dodge, but Kenshiki, thought to fight it another way he started the full chant for Shakkahō, believing that he could destroy his opponent's cero with it. Seeing that Kenshiki wasn't going to dodge, he started cursing, and then fell to his knees. Concentrating on his Kido, then something struck him from behind, and he blacked out. Kenshiki awoke three days later in the squad 4 barracks, and the first thing he saw was Luna's sleeping face. While she was sleeping at the moment, Kenshiki noted the rings under her eyes, and decided that he would sneak out of the bed, and let her sleep. He was about to leave but then turned around. Kenshiki then carefully, picked her up and set her in the bed. He slipped out quietly knowing there would be hell to pay when she woke up, and he wasn't there, but he didn't want to wake her and had to find his captain. When he returned to his squad's barracks he slipped around everyone on his way to the captain's office. Kenshiki wasn't sure what happened, but knew that if anyone in the soul society had any idea, it would be the head of the 2nd squad. He knocked on the door, and was admitted immediately. Kenshiki skipped the pleasantries and asked straight out for an explanation. Despite his head throbbing Kenshiki listened intently to the whole story. Kenshiki learned that the menos was being controled to cause problems and that Hiko knew it was coming, so he wanted them out of the way. Hiko was currently under cover on that mission. He knocked Kenshiki out. What the captain said next took Kenshiki by surprise. He was asked to fill 3rd squad’s lieutenant's position. He also explained that his abilities weren't really suited for the 2nd division, and 3rd squad's captain has had his eye on Kenshiki for awhile now. Kenshiki asked what happened to the 2nd lieutenant, and found out that he was following the guy and would have took care of him had Kenshiki left when he was supposed to. As for where he was now was unknown. Kenshiki took that as he wasn't to ask more.
-Lieutenant Arc-
Spoiler:
A few months later Kenshiki was in his new room in the third squad's barracks, looking out the only window. He missed the 2nd squad's barracks, but never went back to visit. The last he seen Luna was when lieutenant Hiko was declare KIA, and Kenshiki wanted to say something, but he didn't know what to say, so he stayed silent during the ceremony, and kept to himself. Kenshiki felt as though Hiko's death was partially his fault, and for a week blamed himself. After that he stopped dwelling on the past, knowing that what's done can't be undone. Kenshiki started to believe that he now knew why his captain had let him move into squad three. The reason being that while he was good with collecting information, he also wanted to use his power to stop unwanted bloodshed, the whole reason he joined the soul reapers.

A. Way too few years for gaining lieutenant. Considering that he bounces around between all these different divisions, that alone would take quite awhile. And you wouldn't have gotten even to fifth seat without gaining shikai.
B. 11th is the division that fights all the time. 12th is the scientists. They are called HOllows. With an O. Not Hallows. Also, Menos, not Minos. Not the king.
C. "thought to fight it another way he started the full chant for -__-"
What is this I don't even.
D. .....
Okay...
I was making these comments as I went a long.
And I just got to part of it.
YOU DON'T JUST GO THROUGH HOLLOWFICATION. IT IS
ONLY
THROUGH THE VIZARD MAKER.
He is the only person in the entire roleplay that can make Vizards. Nobody else in the Seiretei knows how to do it. It isn't like some conspiracy thing. The Seiretei is currently aware of the existance of Vizards and has made some attempts to ally or at least negotiate with them. Thus every single aspect of this backstory that involves hOllowification needs to be removed. It completely is against the plot of the site, check the Resources for more info.
Also you wouldn't find random information about Vizards in the library on a specific page any ways.
So basically if that is his reason for disliking the Seiretei that will also need to be changed.
And one last thing.
What did he just happen to meet the biggest jackass of the Shinigami when he ws young. Regular souls can't fight hollows with sticks. Shinigami are aware of this fact. They wouldn't say "lol you should have done heroic sacrifice".
So yeah, really needs a lot of edits.

I have a slightly difficult time seeing how he can use the "Genson-ken", as you call it, to give the illusion of multiple strikes when swinging it when he's not good at Shunpo (Shunpo can also affect attacking speed after all). Even in the Bleach universe, you'll normally need either a special technique or highly refined training to pull off something like that, especially without Shunpo, and since it says you've only been in the Gotei 13 for 40 years... well, it just seems off to me. If you'd care to explain in greater detail, that might help with a basic understanding of it. Maybe also add something about some uses and limitations/weaknesses of the style.

I still have an issue with the entire Regular Shinigami arc. I feel you are trying to tell a whole epic story thing but it just doesn't really make sense. After you removed the vizard stuff it now just has this random dude appearing and doing stuff and then getting captured but then... something.
And when the captain "explains the whole story", what is the whole story? I get that you want to have Kenshiki release his zan during this mission and have Hiko get killed or....something. But it isn't clear. You evicerated the story to remove the vizard stuff out and it really just made it from broken due to site rules, to just confusing. I'm sorry I seem like I am being picky but I really don't understand what you are going for with this. I would recommend either trimming that entire area down and just making it a simpler tale or doing something else besides "random dude appears and Captain come but then Kenshiki fights and then something."
