Appearance: Zaren stands 6 feet 8 inches and weighs around 245 lbs. He has jet black, eye-length hair that he keeps combed back. He has grayish-blue eyes. He is also extremely muscular due to the fact that he spends all of his free time training and exercising. He has multiple scars up and down his body and has pride in the fact that he survived each and every one, however many of them are not visible due to his bandages. Despite no longer being a part of the Espada he still wears a semi-recognizable uniform. He wears a white sleeve-less jacket with multiple rips and tears. He wears the jacket unzipped so that his hollow hole is completely visable. He also wears bandages around parts of his chest, abs, on his left forearm down to his hand and around his entire right arm. Finally, Zaren wears the standard white hakama worn by all other arrancar. It is ripped and torn in the lower portions and allow his rather muscular legs to show when he is in movement. His hollow hole is directly over the center of his chest making him seem "heartless". He still bears the Tercero Espada (#3) tattoo on the left side of his neck. His hollow mask remnants form a vent-like mouth on the left side of his face. It then runs down the left side of his neck and shoulder blades with spikes protruding from between his neck and shoulder and from the top of his shoulder. The mask remnants then runs down his left arm stopping in the middle of his forearm.

Personality: Zaren comes off as a somewhat unstable person. His actions make people think he doesn't have a conscience and he tends to laugh at rather grusome things. He views many people as being cynical and denies being cynical himself. He is also extremely sadistic, laughing at any harm that comes to someone he doesn't specifically know and like. He is very solitary and does not socialize much unless it is needed. He can also come off as cruel because of his incompassionate and suspicious altitude toward others. However, if there is one thing that Zaren can relate to is someone who loves a good fight. Zaren doesn't intend to make friends but does occassionaly and when he get comfortable with them he takes a less aggressive and a little more understanding demeanor.

Fighting Style: Zaren is described as more of an executioner than a warrior. He has no code of honor or any conscience to tell him to show mercy. His philosophy is that when you carry a weapon be prepared to fight and die with it. When fighting, Zaren immediantly takes the offencive whether or not he has the advantage. He fights like a berserker, never stopping to review the situation, just charging in to kill whatever he deems a threat to him or his goals. He mainly uses brute force to defeat his opponents and will only resort to using cero and other abilities when his opponent shows great skill.Zaren usually keeps quite when fighting except for an occassional laugh. However, when he comes across an opponent who underestimates him or is arrogant and concieded he will immediantly try to kill them and will hunt them until they are dead. When in his resurreccion he becomes what most people describe as insane. He shows no hint of guilt and hunts his enemies down with an inhuman intent to slaughter them.

Background:

Zaren Azric was born to a poor but honest family and was a very quiet child who didn't feel comfortable around others. Due to his anti-social behavior he was often picked on as he grew. However when he was 16 years and starting to come out of his quiet demeanor and stand up for himself he was assaulted and beaten to death by a group of kids who decided they didn't like the new Zaren. After dying, Zaren slowly began to realize he was dead. After his personality-changing realization, Zaren became infuriated with his murderers who he believed should suffer the same way he did. He would later haunt his murderers for 3 months after his death until he transformed into a hollow. Still remembering the deed that gave him a chance to repay his old enemies, Zaren killed his murderers and devoured their souls giving him his first taste of souls.

As time went by and Zaren devoured more and more souls, his hunger for them grew beyond his control and he finally had to resort to mindlessly eating other hollows to satisfy himself after 35 years of human souls sustaining him. After spending 44 years mercilessly killing and eating other hollows in the real world and Hueco Mundo he finally turned into a Gillian Menos with his personality being dominant out of all the hollows he ate. After relocating to the Menos Forest, he went on an eating frenzy that lasted for 65 years, never ceasing in an attempt to quench his unbearable hunger.

However, rather than being satisfied his hunger grew deeper until he wanted something more than souls: Power. Zaren changed from his large Gillian form into a smaller but even crueler and more ruthless Adjuchas. He moved from the Menos Forest and wandered the White Sand Desert for almost 100 years searching for anything that would make him stronger and less hungry. Due to his ruthless and power-hungry persona, he had very few followers because of other hollow's fear of him. The only hollows that did follow him were required to find him more victims to devour or they would be devoured themselves and Zaren confirmed his threats multiple times.

Although Zaren's lust for power kept him going, the constant hunger and lack of hollows that were around him nearly caused him to go insane. He wandered the desert for 35 years, attacking anything that could be food for him until he came across a being who looked strangely like a human but with a piece of a hollow mask on his face and a destinctive spiritual pressure. Zaren's mind at this point longed for anything that would help stop his hunger and confronted him. This being however, spoke to him and told him of a way to stop the unquentiable hunger that rotted his mind. He introduced himself as Pereza Miligost, The Primera Espada, the strongest arrancar in Hueco Mundo. Zaren accepted his offer and became an arrancar for the Primera.

Over the next 20 years, Zaren, in his new arrancar form, started establishing his power and abilities. He would often go out and search for potential allies for the Primera and if those hollows refused he would kill them without hesitation. However, after about 10 years past, Zaren was overlooked for a younger and seemingly stronger arrancar to take the role of the Tercero Espada for the new generation of Espada Pereza was building. Zaren showed great displeasure at Pereza's choice and challenged his decision. What followed was a fight to the death between him and this "powerful" arrancar. Using his Resurreccion form, Zaren defeated his enemy and executed him without flinching. After seeing this display and losing his Tercero Espada, Pereza made Zaren the Tercero and kept a close eye on him for ten years to ensure his loyalty.

When The Primera Espada finally told Zaren of his plans of conquest on the shinigami, Zaren could find no sense in his leaders plan. He rationalized that the Shinigami balance out the hollows. He thought that if the Shinigami were destroyed, hollows would control all of the worlds and in the end destroy them through fighting and devouring each other. Zaren was not looking forward to the day Pereza's plans were put into action so he fled from Los Noches and Hueco Muendo all together, taking refuge in the human world, hunting hollows to keep his skills sharp and pondering on whether he should fight his kind once more or sit back and let chaos envelope all of the worlds.
